The CARRS-Q vision is to decrease the local, national and international burden of trauma-related harm.

Mission

The CARRS-Q mission is to identify, assess and initiate innovative priority-driving research and teaching programs leading to the development and implementation of strategies to improve safety on our roads, in our workplaces and in our communities.

Key Outcomes

To achieve our mission, we focus on five key outcomes:

International leadership in problem-focused research
To conduct internationally leading, problem-focused research that:

  • is responsive and relevant to current and emerging safety issues;
  • utilises high-quality methods and cutting-edge technologies;
  • impacts on government policy and practice;
  • informs industry policy and practice; and
  • contributes to theoretical and methodological advances in the safety field.

World class professional education and support
To be a world class provider of evidence-based road safety studies and professional development opportunities.

Community engagement and advocacy
To engage in evidence-based advocacy to reduce road trauma and other injury.

Organisational capability
To build a base of capable and cohesive staff supported by effective infrastructure, adequate resources and clear policies.

Extending our financial base and strategic relationships
To maximise the outcomes achieved from the MAIC and QUT financial support by attracting additional funds and collaborators from government and industry.
