A major initiative of the Centre in its early years was the Road Accident Prevention and Road Safety Research Grant Scheme which contributed to developing and expanding road safety research in the State. Two rounds of grant funding were offered (1997 and 1999) which amounted to over $1,250,000. The scheme is no longer available, however, details of the projects which were funded are listed below and information can be obtained by contacting the Centre.
