First Offender Drink Driving Program

THIS PROGRAM IS PRESENTLY BEING PILOTED AND IS UNAVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC USE AT THIS TIME.

The Steering Clear Linked to another web site program is a research based, self guided web based therapeutic intervention. The program aims to reduce drink driving by making those apprehended aware of their personal risk factors and potential consequences of a second drink driving offence. Furthermore, it will allow participants to build personalised plans for the future to prevent them from drink driving.

CARRS-Q's research

The Centre for Accident Research & Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q) has conducted research with first time drink driving offenders. The research involved using qualitative and quantitative, self-report and objective transport data to compile a thorough review of the attitudes, knowledge, alcohol use and drink driving behaviour of first offenders. The results of this research have informed the content of this program.

About the Program

The Steering Clear First Offender Drink Driving Program is a short step-by-step program which will give you information and strategies to help make sure this is your last drink driving offence. It looks at the reasons you were caught, the consequences of drink driving, and how you can avoid further drink driving. This program allows you to login as many times as you wish to complete the program.

After completing the program, you will also have access to an online web app that you can use anytime on your mobile device to track your drink and build plans to prevent future drink driving.
